A group fitness program with a personalized approach.

The iempower program begins with an introductory session which includes a fitness test and optional before picture and measurements. Our fitness test helps us assess each member's fitness level in terms of cardiovascuslar endurance, strength, and flexibility. The program then incorporates individual checkpoints, offering classes that focus around real kickboxing technique and a wide variety of strength conditioning exercises.

Like no other group exercise class, the iempower system combines cross-training and micro-periodization in order to work every muscle group of the body and prevent the body from adapting to exercises over time, resulting in continual improvement. Our goal is to help women develop good exercising habits, gain confidence and finally take control of their overall health. At each checkpoint, we perform the same fitness test so that each participant can actually measure their accomplishements.

Classes are led by iempower program director Natacha Moussi, along with other experienced and motivational instructors who follow each member's progress throughout the program, whether their goals include learning how to throw a powerful hook, losing weight or simply being able to do 100 push-ups!

iemp005Release your inner strength

Our experience with kickboxing training has shown us that it is the ultimate workout for cardiovascular endurance, lean muscle build and serious calorie and fat burn! You will learn how to throw all the basic punches and kicks with skill and learn how to apply them with the use of punching bags.

Note: There is no sparring or body contact involved in the kickboxing training of this program.

Did you know that boxing is actually a major stress reliever?

When hitting a punching bag, your brain increases production of endorphins – neurotransmitters that create feel-good thoughts in your brain. Punching helps to relieve muscle tension that can collect when you experience stress. As you continue to punch, you will find your focus is improved, increasing your concentration and helping you forget the reasons why you are stressed.

iemp002Sculpt your body

Each class has a segment devoted to strength training focusing on different muscle groups (arms and upper-body, abs and core, butt and legs) so that each week you’re able to get a full body workout. Fitness exercises and routines vary and progress through the program so that your body gets stronger rather than adapting to repetitive movements.

Strength training is vital as part of a good fitness regimen as it has many benefits that cardio-only routines can’t provide. Here are just a few of those benefits:

Increased Metabolic Rate

Strength training increases your metabolic rate by increasing the calories you burn on a daily basis. The more calories you burn, the more chance you have to drop body fat.

Increased Lean Muscle Mass

For every pound of lean muscle mass that you have, you burn 35-50 calories per day!

Injury Prevention

Strength training strengthens our muscles and tendons. The stronger we are the less chance of an injury. This is especially important as we grow older.

Increasing and Restoring Bone Density

Strength training prevents and fights osteoporosis.

Aging Gracefully

Strength training is a major factor in aging. Enhancing our muscles and reducing body fat are prime ways to prevent sagging body parts.

iemp006Share the experience

Though you’ll be working on achieving your personal goals, you will feel as part of a team. Your instructor will get to know you and you will be exercising with a group of motivated women. iempower’s personal training guidance along with group exercise helps the instructors connect with each individual and also helps promote team encouragement!

Exercising with a group is encouraging and inspiring. The positive energy that fills the air during a class will motivate you to keep coming back for more!

Experts agree that group exercise can be beneficial. "Working out in a group provides support, accountability, and structure," says Lynne Vaughan, Chief Innovation Officer of the national YMCA. "People don't want to let their buddy or group down, which is terrific in terms of adherence to an exercise routine." Patient information published in 2005 in the Journal of American Academy of Physician Assistants also recommends that people exercise with a partner or group because they "are more likely to stay on track." The group encourages exercisers to involve family members, friends, and coworkers.
